Job Description

Role Purpose

Deliver professional assistance to process and facilitate passengers and their baggage through the airport with minimum inconvenience to them without tolerating the regulatory requirement and operation standards.

Key Accountability

Check-In Counter

  • To ensure the cleanliness of the counter.
  • Must be customer service oriented – greeting, smiling always, and polite.
  • Check in – correct, fast & accurate.
  • Travel document – up to date.
  • Baggage tag – correct & sufficient.
  • Baggage and lost n found issues – alert at all times.
  • Open counter – 90 mins before STD.
  • Close counter – 30 mins before STD.

Gate & Arrival

  • Ensure the boarding gate is opened at least half an hour prior to STD.
  • Able to make delay and gate change announcements.
  • To collect boarding passes and assist passengers at the gate.
  • To ensure no oversize or heavy baggage taken to the aircraft.
  • Able to coordinate boarding management smoothly.
  • To ensure boarding and final announcements are made.
  • To ensure 20 minutes of ground time is not exceeded.
  • Hand over and collect aircraft documents for office filing.
  • Inbound / Outbound Passenger Manifest
  • Inbound / Outbound Cargo Manifest
  • General Declaration (where applicable)
  • Inbound / Outbound Signed Loadsheet & NOTOC
  • Weather Report (where applicable)
  • Signed Fuel Chit

Planning & Preparation of Loadsheet – Only for appointed staff

  • To do EZFW calculation and dispatch the EZFW Advice to SZBOCC (the day before).
  • Double check EZFW on flight day and re-advise new weight if major weight change (more than 5 passenger difference).
  • To ensure on-time preparation of Manifest.
  • Coordinate with the gate that the final Load data is accurate.
  • To plan and prepare LIR for aircraft loading.
  • To liaise with Apron on the accuracy of loading as planned by checking and verifying the signed LIR as per the Load sheet.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent. Credit in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mathematics.
  • Must be physically fit.
  • Experience in airline baggage handling is an added advantage.
  • Good communication skills, pleasant personality, customer-oriented and hospitable. Able to follow instructions.
  • Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Both written and verbal.
  • Able to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Possess own transport.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and airline operation systems.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong skills in the SAP system and basic knowledge of accountancy
  • Good knowledge in managing invoices, billing, purchase requisition, purchase order, account receivable, and account payable with several stakeholders such as finance, group procurement, BU, and vendors
  • Good knowledge of administrative, financial, and budgetary facilities management
  • Good skills in stakeholder management with BU, internal management with external vendors
