Job Description:

• The Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) Organic Matrix Composites group is seeking a polymeric materials lab Technician.
• The successful candidate will be a member of a cohesive team of engineers and technicians focused on polymer composites, adhesives, elastomers and polymeric coatings for jet engine applications.
• Key functions of the job include fabrication of polymer matrix composites and adhesively bonded test panels and specimens, test coupons machining and preparation, performance of laboratory testing, and organization and communication of test data and results.
• The candidate must have familiarity with running laboratory equipment and instruments, and must have exceptional technical, teaming and communication skills. Strong organizational skills are required for effective daily planning and execution of complex laboratory tasks to achieve projects milestones and deliverables.
• Familiarity with lab testing and characterization techniques for polymeric materials and composites is a plus.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Diploma or AA/AS Associate degree or other 2-year post high school training with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
• Mechanical hands-on aptitude

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Diploma / AA /AS Associate degree
• Familiarity with lab testing and characterization techniques for polymeric materials and composites
